What happened: The Utah Mammoth announced Sunday that forward Ben McCartney has been recalled from the Tucson Roadrunners. The transaction returns McCartney to the NHL club from its American Hockey League affiliate.

Why it matters: The call-up provides additional forward depth as the team manages its early-season schedule. McCartney's return gives the coaching staff an extra option among the forward lines.

What to watch: Utah hosts an afternoon matchup at Xfinity Mobile Arena at 2 p.m. MT. Official pregame lineup postings will determine McCartney's status for the contest.
