What happened: Vega Ioane paces all qualifying NFL rookie offensive linemen this season with a 3.7% pressure rate allowed across at least 125 snaps, per PFF. Austin Barber, who previously topped the rookie pass-blocking leaderboard, sits second at 3.8%, followed by Jake Slaughter (5.0%), Spencer Fano (5.4%), and Blake Miller (5.5%).

Why it matters: Cleveland holds two of the top four spots on the rookie leaderboard after selecting Fano ninth overall out of Utah and Barber 86th overall out of Florida in the 2026 NFL Draft. Former Florida teammates Barber and Slaughter—taken 63rd overall by the Los Angeles Chargers—both rank in the top three, while Detroit Lions first-round pick Miller rounds out the top five after going 17th overall out of Clemson.

By the numbers: 2026 rookie OL pressure rate allowed (min. 125 snaps, per PFF): Vega Ioane 3.7%, Austin Barber 3.8% (2026 Rd. 3, No. 86), Jake Slaughter 5.0% (2026 Rd. 2, No. 63), Spencer Fano 5.4% (2026 Rd. 1, No. 9), Blake Miller 5.5% (2026 Rd. 1, No. 17).

What to watch: Ioane and Barber enter Week 6 separated by 0.1 percentage points at the top of the rookie pass-protection rankings.
