What happened: Max Verstappen set the fastest time in final practice at Interlagos, narrowly ahead of Kimi Antonelli. Lewis Hamilton's Ferrari suffered a mechanical issue in the session.

Why it matters: Hamilton and Charles Leclerc each take 10-place grid penalties in Brazil after exceeding the season limit of four engines. Verstappen won in Mexico City from fourth on the grid, and he also takes a grid penalty for engine changes in Brazil.

What to watch: Qualifying is next, with Ferrari's repair work on Hamilton's car the item to track.
