What happened: A past moment featuring Victor Robles signaling the number of outs to a praying mantis perched on his cap has resurfaced during the 2026 MLB postseason. The recall followed a separate on-field encounter in which a praying mantis landed on Jackson Chourio during playoff action.

Why it matters: Lighthearted dugout and outfield oddities frequently re-enter the conversation when similar moments occur on the October stage. Chourio's less enthusiastic reaction offered a sharp contrast to Robles welcoming the insect onto his cap.

What to watch: Postseason play continues as clubs battle for a spot in the 2026 World Series.
