What happened: MLB Trade Rumors included Chicago White Sox in an AL Central notes column during the 2026 postseason. The offseason roundup arrived days after Chicago's ALDS exit closed its October run.

Why it matters: Chicago finished last in MLB in starter innings in 2026 and entered the winter targeting rotation and outfield upgrades. The thin rotation was exposed down the stretch with its $23M arm unusable for the final six weeks.

What to watch: Winter movement on starters and outfielders will define whether Chicago can extend its October window in 2027.
