What happened: Minnesota head coach Kevin O'Connell said Friday that Jordan Mason, who previously landed on injured reserve, is inside his 21-day return-to-practice window ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Colts. Listed with a thumb injury on the reserve-designated-to-return report, the running back logged a full practice Thursday and O'Connell noted his outlook for availability is positive.

Why it matters: Mason's potential activation gives undefeated Minnesota (5-0, No. 2 seed) an experienced early-down runner as it looks to extend a five-game winning streak following an Oct. 11 victory at New Orleans (23-13). The Georgia Tech product has been on injured reserve since Oct. 19.

By the numbers: Per ESPN (as of Oct. 19, 2026), Mason rushed 159 times for 758 yards and six touchdowns across 16 games with the Vikings during the 2025 season, and he is in his fifth NFL campaign. Minnesota enters the weekend 5-0 after defeating the Saints 23-13 on Oct. 11.

What to watch: Minnesota must activate Mason from injured reserve to the 53-man roster on Saturday for him to suit up Sunday against Indianapolis.
