What happened: Ville Husso took over in net to start the third period against the Edmonton Oilers. He entered the game facing a 5-2 deficit after Edmonton scored five goals in the second period.

Why it matters: The mid-game change gives Husso additional preseason repetitions following a lopsided second period. It provides the coaching staff another evaluation opportunity for their goaltending rotation ahead of the regular season.

What to watch: The coaching staff will continue to evaluate the goaltending depth chart as the start of the 2026-27 season approaches.
