What happened: Vita Vea requested a trade after extension talks with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers failed. Cleveland's interior group includes Mason Graham, Maliek Collins and Kalia Davis.

Why it matters: Cleveland would inherit Vea's final-year salary while confronting the extension issue behind his Tampa Bay dispute. The potential cost in draft capital and future salary could outweigh the need for another established tackle.

By the numbers: Vea has 35 career sacks, including 23.5 over the past four seasons, along with 79 quarterback hits and 48 tackles for loss. He started all 17 games in 2025.

What to watch: Watch whether Cleveland contacts Tampa Bay and what trade compensation or extension terms emerge.
