What happened: The move avoided a third turn for Gavin Williams against the top of the Tampa Bay order. It came in Game 3 of the ALCS with 30,101 in attendance.

Why it matters: Avoiding the third-time penalty protects a short ALCS rotation. Cleveland opened the series on the road Monday, raising leverage on every early pitching call.

What to watch: Watch who bridges the middle innings and Williams' status for a later ALCS start.
