What happened: The Vols converted out of the Wildcat formation for a go-ahead touchdown during Saturday's ESPN broadcast. The scoring march capped a comeback drive with 24 seconds remaining in the half.

Why it matters: Scoring out of a direct-snap package inside the final minute of the half swings middle-eight momentum and leaves minimal clock for an opposing response before intermission. Every conference result in the October SEC regular-season slate carries direct weight in the standings.

What to watch: Second-half action continues on ESPN as the Vols look to protect the lead.
