What happened: Golden State reached out to the New Orleans Pelicans regarding a potential deal for center Yves Missi while scouring the market for frontcourt help. New Orleans turned away the inquiries and intends to keep Missi as an interior defensive anchor.

Why it matters: Golden State is exploring center options with Kristaps Porzingis listed out and away from the team and wing Moses Moody sidelined following left patellar tendon surgery. Acquiring both Missi and Pelicans wing Trey Murphy III would require matching salaries using the contracts of Porzingis and Moody alongside draft assets, though New Orleans recently exercised its contract option on Missi.

What to watch: Missi remains listed out for New Orleans with a left knee contusion and bone bruise while Golden State continues evaluating trade avenues for frontcourt reinforcement.
