"They have everything necessary to not just get to a Super Bowl, but to win one." @EvanWashburn on the Texans from trai Via @NFLonCBS on X

What happened: Evan Washburn said Houston has the roster necessary to reach and win a Super Bowl. The Texans opened training camp Wednesday ahead of the 2026 season.

Why it matters: The franchise is pursuing its first Super Bowl appearance. Three consecutive playoff berths have raised the standard from qualification to a deeper postseason run.

By the numbers: Houston has reached the playoffs three straight seasons but is 0-6 all-time in games with an AFC title-game berth at stake. Its 2026 camp schedule includes eight free public practices and two joint sessions.

What to watch: The first public practice is Saturday. Roster health and position battles will test the contender assessment throughout camp.
