What happened: The stop took place last week at Engine 54/Ladder 4/Battalion 9 in Midtown. It was part of commemorative activities marking 25 years since the attacks.

Why it matters: The firehouse suffered the largest personnel loss of any station on Sept. 11, 2001. The visit connects the anniversary observance with one of the FDNY's hardest-hit units.

By the numbers: Engine 54/Ladder 4/Battalion 9 lost 15 members on Sept. 11; the FDNY lost 343 members overall.

What to watch: The firehouse is scheduled to hold a 3rd Division Memorial Mass on Sept. 11.
