What happened: MLB spotlighted Zack Wheeler, Chris Sale and Justin Wrobleski as the headline starters across Thursday's slate of games. The trio anchors the day's pitching matchups, with Wheeler and Sale bringing established veteran track records and Wrobleski drawing the tougher comparative matchup of the group.

Why it matters: Marquee pitching duels shape both standings and rotation narratives this deep into the regular season. Wheeler in particular has been central to his club's recent surge, with the Phillies going 22-11 since Wheeler's return, the second-best mark in the NL, raising the stakes on each of his outings.

What to watch: Watch how each starter fares against his matchup and whether Wheeler extends his run of strong outings. Final lines and results will clarify the day's rotation storylines.
