What happened: The Minnesota Wild have submitted a trade offer for Detroit Red Wings center Dylan Larkin, per The Hockey Writers. Detroit has held Larkin out of the lineup while front offices discuss package frameworks.

Why it matters: Minnesota has remained focused on adding a proven top-line center, staying in pursuit after Larkin expanded his trade list to clear a path out of Detroit. Acquiring the captain would solidify the Wild's offensive core for a playoff push in the Western Conference.

What to watch: Watch for whether Detroit accepts Minnesota's current proposal or waits for competing suitors to escalate their bidding.
