"Coach Harbaugh is trying to change the culture of the Giants...he's trying to keep this football team singularly minded Via @NFLonCBS on X

What happened: Cam Skattebo finished Sunday with zero carries for the New York Giants. Harbaugh said the shutout was not by design and no running back has separated in the room. Wilson said Harbaugh is changing the culture and keeping the team singularly minded.

Why it matters: The empty workload leaves the Giants backfield split unsettled during the 2026 regular season. Skattebo ran 101 times for 410 yards and 5 touchdowns in 8 games in 2025 after going 105th overall out of Arizona State. Losing early-down work would narrow his path to a second-year role.

By the numbers: Skattebo in 2025 with New York: 8 games, 101 carries, 410 yards, 5 touchdowns. Sunday: 0 carries.

What to watch: New York's next game will indicate whether Skattebo returns to the rotation and who takes first-team reps in practice.
