"I think that before you jump the bridge to J.J. McCarthy you may have to give Jameis Winston one more shot and one more Via @NFLonCBS on X

What happened: @DangeRussWilson said the Giants should give Jameis Winston one more start before turning to J.J. McCarthy. McCarthy is currently listed behind Winston after arriving via trade.

Why it matters: The choice shapes New York's stretch run and how it balances a veteran starter against a young first-round pick. Staying with Winston gives the staff another evaluation before committing to a switch.

By the numbers: Winston completed 37 of 66 passes for 567 yards with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in 3 games in 2025 with the Giants. McCarthy completed 140 of 243 passes for 1,632 yards with 11 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 10 games in 2025 with the Vikings.

What to watch: Watch for the Giants starter announcement ahead of the next game.
