What happened: Heading into the open of free agency, ESPN front-office analyst Bobby Marks pegged wings and forwards as the strongest position group available, setting LeBron James and Draymond Green aside. The pool includes Norman Powell, Anfernee Simons, Tim Hardaway Jr., Bradley Beal, Luke Kennard, Gary Trent Jr., De'Anthony Melton, Quentin Grimes, Tobias Harris, Dean Wade, Rui Hachimura and John Collins, alongside restricted names such as Tari Eason, Peyton Watson and Spencer Jones.

Why it matters: Wing depth this deep gives contenders and rebuilders alike room to shop, especially with talk that the center market has thinned out. Cap-strapped teams chasing two-way perimeter help will have options at a range of price points, from veterans to restricted players their current teams can match on. The framing arrives the same week Draymond Green declined his option to enter the market.

What to watch: Watch which contenders move first once free agency opens and whether the restricted wings draw offer sheets that force matching decisions.
