What happened: The New York Yankees travel to Cleveland to open a three-game series against the Guardians at Progressive Field. New York enters the matchup at 38-26 after toasting a Bronx win, though the team now faces significant injury challenges.

Why it matters: This series is a critical rematch after Cleveland took two of three from the Yankees in the Bronx last week. Despite missing stars like Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton, the Yankees remain tied for the AL East lead. The matchup features two of the league's top pitchers in Will Warren and Gavin Williams.

By the numbers: Yankees starter Will Warren carries a 7-1 record and a 3.22 ERA into tonight's game. Cleveland's Gavin Williams leads the American League with nine wins. New York's Ben Rice has emerged as a force in the lineup, tallying 18 home runs and 45 RBIs.

What to watch: Watch to see if the Yankees' depth can overcome the loss of Judge against Williams, who previously beat them on June 3. The three-game set continues through Wednesday in Cleveland.
