What happened: First pitch is still pending for the scheduled game, scoreless at 0-0. Schlittler draws the must-deliver turn with little margin for team mistakes.

Why it matters: The Tampa Bay Rays lead the series 2-0 before this game. New York needs clean defense and timely hitting behind Schlittler to change the series dynamic.

What to watch: The response after first pitch shows whether New York steadies its side of the series.
