What happened: November 5 marked the four-year anniversary of Yordan Alvarez hitting the decisive three-run home run to secure the 2022 World Series title for the Houston Astros. The drive overturned a sixth-inning deficit to seal the championship in Game 6.

Why it matters: The swing stands as the defining postseason moment of Alvarez's career, cementing his standing as one of baseball's most feared postseason hitters. He reinforced that elite status in 2026 by sweeping the MLBPA American League Most Outstanding Player and Comeback Player awards after leading the majors across five statistical categories.

What to watch: Houston enters the winter focused on the upcoming 2027 season with Alvarez anchored at the center of the lineup.
