What happened: Bleacher Report has identified several high-profile players who could be available for trade as the 2026 MLB deadline approaches. The list is headlined by Baltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman and Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal, as teams evaluate their long-term directions ahead of July 30.

Why it matters: The potential availability of Rutschman is particularly surprising given his status as a franchise cornerstone, but the emergence of top prospect Samuel Basallo may allow Baltimore to seek pitching help. This speculation aligns with earlier reports that the MLB trade market is heating up with potential sellers.

What to watch: Expect trade talks to intensify throughout July as underperforming clubs decide whether to pivot toward a rebuild. Scouts will be closely watching these candidates to see if their performance holds before the deadline.
