What happened: AJ Dybantsa retrieved the official game ball following his first career NBA victory to present to his father. The rookie forward delivered 17 points and eight rebounds in Washington's Friday night victory. The performance marked his second regular-season appearance after making his NBA debut two days earlier.

Why it matters: The postgame gesture adds another family milestone for the No. 1 overall pick, who shared a memorable draft-night moment with his father Anicet Sr. in June. Securing his first win provides immediate momentum after missing time in the preseason due to an ankle sprain.

What to watch: Washington continues its early-season schedule as Dybantsa settles into a featured starting role.
