What happened: The milestone swing came in the ninth inning and pulled the game level. The night also opened with a standing ovation before Alonso's first at-bat.

Why it matters: That turned a homecoming into a live-game moment, not just a pregame salute. Fans who caught the ball later met Alonso after the game, showing how much weight the return still carried at Citi Field.

What to watch: Watch the next time Alonso steps back into Citi Field after a night that paired a milestone with a game-tying swing. The crowd reaction is now part of the story whenever he returns.
