What happened: The Athletics organization visited the West Las Vegas Library on Monday to engage with the local community as part of the team's outreach programming. Former Athletics player and current team analyst Tony Kemp joined the visit as a special guest to interact with fans and library patrons.

Why it matters: The visit underscores the franchise's ongoing efforts to build a presence in the Las Vegas market during their transition period. Kemp, a former Roberto Clemente Award nominee known for his community service, continues to serve as a key ambassador for the team's off-field initiatives.

By the numbers: As of June 8, 2026, the Athletics hold a 31-34 record, placing them third in the AL West standings and 2.5 games behind the Seattle Mariners. Shea Langeliers leads the club with 16 home runs while Nick Kurtz has tallied 43 RBIs.

What to watch: The Athletics are scheduled to face the Milwaukee Brewers on June 8.
