What happened: Speaking on College GameDay, Alex Golesch told Jen Lada that his seven-year-old self would call serving as Auburn's head coach "pretty badass." The Saturday morning segment traced his career climb to the top role on the Plains.

Why it matters: The national spotlight follows Auburn's upset win over Georgia, a result that reshaped the program's debut season under Golesch. Sustaining that edge in conference play while linebacker Xavier Atkins' status remains unresolved is the staff's immediate test.

What to watch: Auburn hosts No. 18 LSU at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday.
