What happened: Quarterback Austin Simmons agreed to terms to remain with Missouri, per Yahoo Sports. The contract structure allows him to declare for the 2027 NFL Draft instead of playing the college season.

Why it matters: The dual arrangement gives Missouri roster stability under center while preserving Simmons' professional leverage. Maintaining draft eligibility keeps the door open if early NFL evaluations grade him as a top prospect.

What to watch: Simmons will weigh his collegiate commitment against NFL feedback before the draft declaration deadline.
