What happened: The list Livan Hernandez's 1997 NLCS Game 5 sits second, ahead of Michael Wacha's 2013 NLCS Game 6, Fernando Valenzuela's 1981 NLCS Game 5 and John Lackey's 2002 ALCS Game 4.

Why it matters: Rookie starters carry added series leverage when rotations shorten in October. The 2026 Championship Series round is underway with Milwaukee up 2-0 in the NLCS and ALCS Game 2 on deck.
