What happened: Braden Montgomery made Major League history Tuesday night, launching a two-out, walk-off two-run home run in the 10th inning to secure a 6-5 victory. The opposite-field blast off Raisel Iglesias capped a 2-for-5 performance in his first career game.

Why it matters: Montgomery’s debut justifies his status as the centerpiece of the Garrett Crochet trade, immediately establishing him as a cornerstone for the franchise. By hitting a walk-off in his debut, he joins a shortlist of only five players in MLB history to achieve the feat, providing an immediate impact to the lineup.

What to watch: Montgomery will look to maintain his momentum as the series continues following his historic entry into the big leagues.
