What happened: Purdy assumed first place on the league's passer rating leaderboard after Monday night's game. He hit several downfield throws in an otherwise uneven outing to move into the top spot.

Why it matters: The top spot tracks his climb from the 262nd pick of the 2022 draft to the head of a career efficiency measure. That trajectory has fueled his MVP-caliber tag for early form during the 2026 regular season.

What to watch: Next is whether Purdy holds the lead through the coming weeks of the 2026 regular season.
