What happened: Cleveland elevated rookie tight end Carsen Ryan from the practice squad for Sunday's game at Pittsburgh. Right tackle Tytus Howard has cleared concussion protocol and carries no injury designation into the game.

Why it matters: Howard's return keeps the Browns' right side of the line intact for a division game between two 5-2 teams. Ryan, a seventh-round pick out of BYU in 2026 who signed Oct. 28, gives Cleveland another tight end option.

By the numbers: Browns: 5-2, W2, seed 3. Steelers: 5-2, W3, seed 6. Cleveland won 27-24 at Tennessee on Oct. 25; Pittsburgh won 16-10 at New Orleans the same day.

What to watch: Kickoff is Sunday at Pittsburgh.
