What happened: The 45th-minute substitution sends Ramírez on to start the second half with the MLS postseason match tied at 1-1.

Why it matters: The change marks a second October early exit for Malacia after his 68th-minute departure on Oct. 15 while trailing 3-2. Ramírez has been a frequent second-half option, previously entering at the intermission on Aug. 30 with a 1-0 lead and in the 54th minute on Sept. 20 while down 2-0.

What to watch: Starting XI selections for the next postseason contest will indicate whether Ramírez claims the role from the opening whistle.
