What happened: Cleveland Guardians closer Cade Smith told TBS that playing in cold weather at the start of the season is an obligation, while playing in the October chill is a privilege. Manager Stephen Vogt smiled upon reading his reliever's perspective on postseason weather.

Why it matters: The Guardians are navigating late-autumn conditions in the American League Championship Series. Smith anchors the late innings for Cleveland after recording a four-out save earlier this month.

What to watch: Cleveland continues its ALCS slate in Game 4 after a rainout eliminated Sunday's scheduled off day.
