What happened: Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell provided an update Friday on safety Kerby Joseph's physical progression. Joseph returned to practice earlier this week after opening the season on the physically unable to perform list with a knee injury. The 25-year-old participated on a limited basis during Thursday's workout.

Why it matters: Detroit stands at 4-2 and currently holds the No. 6 seed in the NFC following consecutive victories. Joseph's eventual activation would reinforce a secondary that recently welcomed back safety Brian Branch. Restoring defensive continuity remains pivotal as Detroit contends for position in the conference playoff race.

By the numbers: Detroit enters the weekend at 4-2 following a 20-17 win over Green Bay on Oct. 25. In six appearances during the 2025 season, Joseph recorded 18 tackles and three interceptions for Detroit.

What to watch: Detroit has until mid-November to activate Joseph to the 53-man roster before his 21-day practice window expires. The team will release its final game-status report Friday afternoon.
