What happened: The Dallas Mavericks announced Saturday that they have waived two-way guard John Poulakidas and guard/forward Seth Lundy, whom the club signed on Sept. 26. The moves immediately open one of the franchise's three two-way contract slots.

Why it matters: With the 2026-27 NBA regular season tipping off in three days, Dallas is trimming its preseason roster and creating flexibility on the back end of its depth chart. The cuts arrived shortly after the Mavericks exercised their third-year rookie scale team option on Cooper Flagg.

What to watch: Dallas now holds an open two-way contract spot as teams across the league finalize waivers ahead of opening night.
