What happened: Dallas waived John Poulakidas and Seth Lundy on Saturday, clearing one of its three two-way contract spots ahead of the 2026-27 season, per Marc Stein. Because Moussa Cisse's $2.2 million contract became fully guaranteed on Oct. 1, he would still collect the full salary if cut and re-signed to that open two-way slot.

Why it matters: Attempting to shift Cisse from a standard roster spot to a two-way deal would expose the center to the waiver wire first. Any rival team could claim his guaranteed contract outright, or he could sign a standard or two-way deal elsewhere upon clearing waivers rather than returning to Dallas.

What to watch: Dallas must finalize its 15-man regular-season roster and two-way assignments before opening night next week.
