The CBA has a little rule that prohibits any team from waiving a player with a guaranteed salary north of the full Exhib Via @JakeLFischer on X

What happened: Per Jake Fischer, NBA collective bargaining rules prohibit any club from waiving a player whose guaranteed salary exceeds the full 2026-27 Exhibit 10 limit and re-signing him to a two-way contract. A player waived under those terms is also barred from joining that organization's G League affiliate.

Why it matters: Front offices navigating preseason roster cutdowns cannot use waive-and-convert maneuvers to keep guaranteed contracts inside their developmental system. Releasing a player above the threshold forces a clean roster split rather than a two-way retention.

By the numbers: 2026-27 full Exhibit 10 guaranteed threshold: $91,000. Moussa Cisse 2026-27 guaranteed salary: $2.2 million.

What to watch: Front offices must finalize standard roster cuts and open two-way slots before the preseason deadline.
