What happened: Victor Caratini delivered a game-tying solo home run in the bottom of the sixth inning, finding the seats at Target Field shortly after play resumed following a 67-minute rain delay. The blast off reliever John Schreiber brought the Minnesota Twins even with the Kansas City Royals at 6-6 in the series opener.

Why it matters: The Twins entered the series 6.5 games back in the AL Central standings and are fighting to regain momentum in the division race. Caratini's third home run of the season provided a necessary spark for a lineup looking to compensate for recent pitching depth issues following Bailey Ober's injury.

What to watch: Minnesota continues their four-game series against Kansas City as they look to climb back toward the .500 mark.
