What happened: Arizona Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur announced that Gardner Minshew will take over as starting quarterback, moving Jacoby Brissett to the emergency third-string role. Rookie Carson Beck will serve as the primary backup behind Minshew.

Why it matters: The shift signals to the NFL that Arizona is open to trading Brissett ahead of the deadline as rival front offices evaluate quarterback depth. The decision comes after the Cardinals secured a 33-30 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, establishing Minshew as the starter after the Cardinals benched Brissett.

What to watch: Minshew prepares to lead the offense going forward, while teams across the league monitor Brissett's trade market.
