What happened: Arizona Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur announced that Gardner Minshew II will take over as the team's starting quarterback following an overtime win against Dallas. Rookie Carson Beck moves into the primary backup role. Veteran Jacoby Brissett has been demoted to emergency quarterback.

Why it matters: The depth-chart shuffle solidifies Minshew under center after guiding Arizona to a 33-30 comeback victory. The realignment elevates Beck closer to game action while reshaping the quarterback room for the second half of the season.

What to watch: Minshew prepares for his first start since the promotion, while Beck takes backup repetitions in practice.
