What happened: Boston also tags Oct. 3 as the birthday for JD Davison and Courtney Lee.

Why it matters: The date lands in preseason, with Boston resetting after the Jaylen Brown trade to Philadelphia, so it carries more franchise context than roster consequence. Its immediate relevance is limited while camp decisions shape the 2026-27 team.

What to watch: Watch for Boston's next preseason roster and rotation decisions as opening night gets closer.
