What happened: Seattle sends a 2027 sixth-rounder for cornerback Avery Smith. Carolina sends a 2028 sixth-rounder for defensive lineman Terah Edwards.

Why it matters: Smith is the only undrafted rookie on Seattle's initial 53-man roster. Edwards adds defensive-line depth for Carolina after spending 2025 on Los Angeles' practice squad.

By the numbers: Edwards recorded 10 tackles across all three 2026 preseason games. Los Angeles now holds seven selections in the 2027 draft and nine in 2028.

What to watch: Physicals are the final condition before both moves are completed.
