What happened: Wide receiver-needy franchises have reportedly contacted the Indianapolis Colts regarding fourth-year wideout Josh Downs ahead of the Nov. 10 NFL trade deadline at 4 p.m. ET. Meanwhile, Indianapolis dealt six-time All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks for a 2027 third-round draft pick and a 2028 fifth-round selection, taking him off the board for the New England Patriots. New England has already completed 2026 trades involving A.J. Brown, Jaylen Reed, Corey Kiner, and Walter Rouse while evaluating additional deadline moves.

Why it matters: At 4-3 and holding the eighth seed in the AFC on a one-game skid, the Patriots have already matched their total loss count from last season while navigating multiple injured reserve absences over the first two months. Indianapolis sits at 2-5 and 12th in the conference on a three-game losing streak, entering a roster sell-off after parting ways with its general manager. Seattle's addition of Nelson reinforces a 4-3 Seahawks squad that holds the eighth seed following a 20-3 victory on Oct. 25.

What to watch: NFL front offices have until Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 4 p.m. ET to finalize deals before the 2026 trade window closes. Watch whether New England pursues Downs or additional roster reinforcements while injured Patriots players work back from injured reserve.
