What happened: The Kansas City Chiefs downgraded cornerback Mansoor Delane to out for Sunday's matchup in Denver due to a shoulder injury. Delane had been listed as questionable heading into the weekend. Defensive end R Mason Thomas will travel separately from the team for personal reasons.

Why it matters: Delane's absence tests Kansas City's secondary depth following a 20-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. At 5-1, Kansas City enters the divisional matchup holding the top seed in the AFC.

By the numbers: Kansas City is 5-1 on the season after falling 20-3 in Seattle on Oct. 25. Delane was selected sixth overall in the 2026 draft out of LSU.

What to watch: Kansas City faces the Broncos on Sunday in Denver for Week 8 action.
