What happened: Kansas City signed rookie running back Jaydn Ott out of Oklahoma from the practice squad to an active roster contract on Saturday while placing running back Brashard Smith on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. The club also activated linebacker Cooper McDonald from injured reserve after designating him to return from a knee injury on Tuesday, and activated wide receiver Justin Watson from the practice squad via standard elevation.

Why it matters: Smith was already ruled out for Week 7 alongside wide receiver Rashee Rice and tackle Jaylon Moore, and moving the 2025 seventh-round pick (228th overall out of SMU) to injured reserve clears space on the 53-man roster for Ott and McDonald. Watson, who signed with Kansas City on Oct. 13, 2026, gives the offense experienced depth at receiver with Rice unavailable.

By the numbers: Kansas City enters Sunday's game at 5-0 on a five-game winning streak as the AFC's No. 1 seed following a 22-6 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on Oct. 18.

What to watch: The Chiefs travel to face the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday with Ott, McDonald and Watson eligible for game-day action. Cornerback L'Jarius Sneed remains questionable with a knee injury and is set to meet the team in Seattle separately after not traveling with the club on Saturday for personal reasons.
