What happened: The Kansas City Chiefs and cornerback Mansoor Delane have agreed to terms on a four-year, $41.9 million rookie contract. The deal is fully guaranteed and was finalized by agents Travis Allen and Kyle McCarthy of Athletes First.

Why it matters: Signing the No. 6 overall pick solidifies a key defensive investment for the defending champions as they prepare for the 2026 season. The deal for the same Mansoor Delane who dominated the SEC last year ensures their top draft asset is under contract before mandatory mini-camps.

What to watch: Delane is expected to sign the contract imminently and will join the team for the remainder of their offseason program. The Chiefs turn their attention to training camp as they look to integrate their high-profile rookie into the starting rotation.
