What happened: Cristian Chivu told Gazzetta dello Sport that Alessandro Bastoni is among his top players and will give the club plenty in the future. He acknowledged transfer stories around the center back, calling them normal because of Bastoni's standing among the world's best defenders.

Why it matters: The comments push back against a fresh cycle of speculation around Bastoni, including reported interest from Real Madrid. They also echo prior club messaging that interest in Bastoni has not changed Inter's stance.

What to watch: Watch whether formal bids follow the speculation, and whether Chivu or club officials harden the public stance as the summer window develops.
