What happened: Christian Walker earned the 2026 Rawlings Gold Glove Award at first base in the American League, announced Monday on ESPN. The selection marks the fourth Gold Glove of his career following three consecutive National League honors from 2022 through 2024.

Why it matters: Walker's win underscores his sustained defensive dominance across both leagues over the past four seasons. His seamless transition to the American League kept him at the top of the position's defensive tier.

What to watch: Major League Baseball will continue rolling out its postseason hardware with the announcement of the Platinum Glove winners and BBWAA awards.
