That’s a brutal injury. One of the top LTs in football out indefinitely. Via @RapSheet on X

What happened: The injury occurred during one-on-one pass-rush drills at Saturday's practice, according to Mike Garafolo. Surgery is considered likely.

Why it matters: Washington must replace its premier blind-side blocker as the 2026 preseason opens. Tunsil signed a two-year, $60.2 million extension in March.

By the numbers: Tunsil is a five-time Pro Bowler who started 14 games in 2025, allowing 1.5 sacks. His 88.9 pass-blocking grade ranked second among qualifying offensive linemen.

What to watch: Watch for a surgery decision and Washington's plan at left tackle before its Aug. 14 preseason opener.
