What happened: Cutter Gauthier scored three goals in the second period to pull Anaheim level with Ottawa. The rapid outburst wiped out an early three-goal Senators lead heading into the second intermission. His final two goals came within a 40-second span to complete the comeback.

Why it matters: The milestone marks the second career NHL hat trick for Gauthier, who scored twice two days earlier on October 30. His surge also powered an Anaheim power-play unit that produced three goals during the game.

What to watch: Anaheim and Ottawa enter the third period tied 3-3.
